Glenn KimmelGlenn Kimmel has founded The Burned Man, an organization whose aim is to raise funds for burn victims and raise awareness about fire safety.

It’s an intense journey from being a victim to becoming a survivor. Glenn’s harrowing personal experience in June of this year was preceded by a near miss last year with the massive Lockheed Fire in Swanton and the Martin Fire the year before in Bonny Doon. And we all heard about the terrible tragedy of the gas pipeline explosion in a San Bruno neighborhood last month. It drives home a message – fire is an awesome force!

The mission of The Burned Man is to help people personally affected by fire who don’t have enough resources or support to get their lives properly reestablished. We are a small group of creative business people who are willing to help Glenn, and others, by establishing this  non-profit organization.

Please join us in celebrating Glenn’s progress in the healing department! He is working hard, building stamina and looking forward to sharing a meal of Thanksgiving with all of you.

Sunday, November 7th, 2010, Noon – 6 pm
Native Sons Hall
112 Stage Road, Pescadero, CA

The Native Sons Hall is an architectural gem, graciously offered to us by The Pescadero Historical Society. An afternoon on the coast with friends and family is well worth the journey! Wonderful treasures and services are being donated to the silent auction and live music will be played throughout the event. There will be plenty of good food to eat as well.

If you would like to volunteer in any way or contribute to the auction, please click here. For more about Glenn’s story click here. You can listen to an interview that Glenn gave on local station KPDO recorded 10/22. (mp3)

Thank you so much. We look forward to seeing you there.
